Visualisation Research Unit

A Visualisation Research Unit project in action

The Visualisation Research Unit (VRU) at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD) was set up in 2005 to support and develop work in creative supercomputing and motion capture technologies. Based in the Department of Art, the Unit draws its staff from across the university encouraging collaborations between musicians, visual artists, computer scientists and engineers. The work of the VRU aims to deliver technology transfer projects for real life situations for people who can benefit from the application of new technologies. Research themes include: e-Science in the Creative Arts, Motion Capture, Digital Performance and Visualisation.
