Ethical awareness and sound knowledge of ethical practice in one’s discipline is a key attribute of the trained researcher. Research ethics is therefore an important component of any research training programme. The contribution of this project is to research and develop materials for use in workshops or as part of an online, resource-based learning approach, which introduces students to ethical issues in research practice. Most importantly, it aims to do this through developing case examples situated in the fields of art, design and media, and which will therefore enable students to reflect on, assess and tackle ethical issues in their own subject domains. The project is a collaboration with University of the Arts London, Coventry University, Nottingham Trent University, Sheffield Hallam University and Staffordshire University.
