Curated by: Peter GregoCatalogue: Displaced ISBN 956-19-0266-4Published by: Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Santiago, Chile. 1998
The notion of displacement is, taken at face value, one of disquiet, dis-ease, dislocation, disruption. Dis-anything is the sound of certainty, the flavour of a powerful concept, negative by nature. However uncomfortable the word may sound, displacement is indicative not of complete removal but of a shift - not necessarily a side step or perilous journey into unknown territory, but a move upward and outward, a repositioning of ideas, fresh juxtapositions, alternative views of the familiar, opening gateways to transformation."From catalogue essay, 'Something other' (Libby Anson 1998)
