The Jewellery Research Group, incorporating as it does academic staff from the School of Jewellery, Theoretical and Historical Studies and others employed by the Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre (JIIC), encompasses a broad approach to research. Outcomes are anticipated in the following areas: exhibitions, books, journal papers, products and research for industry applications.

The specific interests of the JIIC are in Electroforming, Advanced Casting, CAD/CAM, Anodising and Surface Finishing, and Rapid Prototyping. All of these have specific reference to the jewellery and allied industries.
