MA Contemporary Curatorial Practice
Curatorial practice has come to play an increasingly vital role in the representation and interpretation of art. As a result, curators work as intermediaries across an ever-expanding number of contexts - from the gallery to the public realm and the local community - from the mass media to online art. This type of work requires a sound knowledge of the range of approaches, methods and contexts in curatorial practice today and demands inventiveness, resourcefulness, adaptability and flexibility from the curator.
The MA Contemporary Curatorial Practice is designed to develop key practical and professional skills through project work and to build substantial knowledge of a range of contexts and curatorial practices through seminar-based modules and live research.
The programme aims to meet the need in the creative industries for well-informed, critically astute curators who will have the ability to move between a wide range of curatorial contexts and who will have questioned the social and ethical implications of the work that they do and developed an awareness of the key issues in curatorial practice.
